DISCOVER THE ARTISANAL SIDE OF THE LAKE
Lake Como’s heritage is deeply woven into the delicate threads of its renowned silk industry, a craft that has flourished here since the Renaissance. Get yourself lost in the local shops and find the best silk scarves or participate in a painting on the silk class with a local artisan.

BOOK A BOAT TOUR WITH A TYPICAL BOAT
To experience the lake to the fullest, you must be transported to another era by taking a boat tour on a traditional lake vessel, which retraces the tradition of the shipyards of Lake Como.
-
TASTE THE TYPICAL DISHES
Lake Como’s culinary tradition is rooted in simplicity, but when reinterpreted through the lens of quality ingredients and skilled hands, even the most rustic recipes become elevated experiences.
Dishes like risotto al pesce persico, polenta uncia, or missoltini (sun-dried lake fish) tell the story of the territory — of fishermen, alpine pastures, and slow-cooked family meals.
If you're looking to experience authentic lake cuisine, one of our favorite spots is Crotto del Misto in Lezzeno. Their menu offers a fantastic selection of freshwater fish, beautifully prepared and rooted in local tradition.

ADMIRE THE LAKE FROM ABOVE
A walk through the woods or old stone paths can show you another side of the lake: quiet, green, and full of history. Some trails pass by little chapels, old villages, or panoramic spots where you can stop and enjoy the view. You don’t need to be a seasoned hiker — plenty of these routes are gentle and ideal for a peaceful morning stroll or a golden-hour walk. One of our favorite hikes leads to the San Martino church, perched above the village. From the sanctuary, the view over the lake is simply breathtaking — a perspective you won’t find from the shore.

GET LOST IN SMALL VILLAGES
One of the best ways to enjoy Lake Como is to forget the map and explore the small villages at your own pace. Walk through narrow alleys, stop in quiet squares, watch local life unfold — these are the moments that often stay with you the longest. While the well-known towns of Bellagio, Menaggio, and Varenna are certainly worth a visit, we warmly recommend making time for lesser-known gems like Bellano and Argegno. Each village has its own unique atmosphere, offering a more intimate glimpse into the everyday beauty of the lake.
